This project involved the refurbishment of a college dining hall whilst maintaining all of the usual college dining functions. This was achieved by erecting a high-level birdcage type access scaffold to the whole area so that works could continue overhead to all of the historic building fabric. The works centred around the installation of a new, modern controlled lighting system and audio upgrades carried out by specialist designers and installers along with the restoration and decorations to walls, stonework and all of the historic timberwork. This involved the use of numerous specialist conservators each with a unique set of skills that resulted in a truly spectacular and more importantly almost invisible blending of new and old finishes.
